As part of our recent facility expansion, LAB Research Canada opened a state of the art rodent, dog and primate inhalation facility to offer acute through chronic inhalation toxicity studies of large and small molecule pharmaceutical products.
Facilities
Total of 12 (7 rodent and 5 non-rodent) dedicated inhalation suites 4 suites to be equipped and operational in 2009 8 additional suites to be phased in commencing in 2009 5 to 6 containment cabinets per rodent suite to prevent cross contamination Separate control article exposure rooms for large animal suites to prevent cross-contamination Redundant systems (back-up pumps and ventilation, UPS/back-up generators)
Equipment
Nose-only stainless-steel exposure chambers for rodents (flow-through and flow-past) Modular chamber capacity (up to 80+ rodents per chamber) Dog or primate exposure (mask) capacity for up to 8 large animals/stainless-steel chamber concurrently Computer-monitored and controlled exposure systems in each suite Atmosphere generation: dust feeds, nebulizer, MDI, other Particle size analyzers
Staff 2 inhalation toxicologists with cumulative 30+ years in inhalation toxicology 7 inhalation technologists with cumulative 30+ years experience in inhalation delivery Supported by a toxicology staff of well over 100 technicians
